Theben is happy with this step and did not have to think long to seize the opportunity to meet both the E- and W-market on the exhibition floor with an established name as VSK. Director Edwin Hannink: "For years we have been talking with our relations about solutions that touch both worlds. That's why it's great that an initiative is now being developed in which we can discuss our possibilities with visitors industry-wide."
Joining forces
Misunderstanding between the E and W installers still prevails too much in many cases, although there are increasingly successful examples of constructive collaborations.
"Cooperation and giving each other space can make an installation much nicer, more efficient and ultimately affordable. This requires coordination at an early stage, including attention to integration," says Hannink. "At the fair, we would like to discuss the solutions that are available, based on the recognized world standard KNX."
Two worlds within one protocol
KNX is a worldwide standard within which about 500 manufacturers offer products on the market. Basically the control of lighting, shading, but also climate. By integrating E and W techniques, the infrastructure can be kept simple.
"We as Theben have a motto here by which we indicate that people should always be at the center. We call this internationally: Human Centered Building Technology. We would like to share this with visitors to the VSK 2024 and work on this together with our/new partners in the coming years to realize our ambitions in this way," said Edwin Hannink.
