Radson's new low-temperature radiator, the Ulow-E fan radiator, fits well with modern condensing boilers and heat pumps. This radiator can easily replace older radiators in energy renovations and offers up to 60 percent more heat output thanks to its integrated fans.
An important part of making housing construction more sustainable is improving and future-proofing heating systems in existing homes. In many cases, these involve replacing the old boiler with a modern condensing boiler or heat pump. Both operate with low system temperatures. A radiant heating solution, such as underfloor heating, fits in well with this, and it is therefore often used in new construction.
But in renovations, there is an increasing need for radiators that can be used to easily replace existing radiators. This is where Radson responds with the Ulow-E. It offers an efficient and user-friendly solution for systems with supply temperatures below 45 °C.
Up to 60 percent more heat output
When the supply temperature falls below 45°C, the convection share of the heating system decreases significantly, because the temperature difference between the radiator and the air becomes too small. So then an additional drive, such as fans, is needed. A low-temperature radiator or fan radiator such as the Ulow-E uses integrated fans to support convection heat dissipation and increases overall heat output by up to 60% compared to a standard radiator. This enables both lower temperature settings and lower energy consumption.
The fans of the Ulow-E automatically turn on when the return temperature reaches 28°C. The combination of fan support and low thermal mass provides better temperature control. This is very important because in well-insulated buildings you need heat emitters that can be controlled smoothly and that respond quickly and efficiently.
Ventilo-radiator for renovation projects
The Ulow-E fan radiator is an interesting option for (energy) renovation projects. It can easily be used as a replacement for older compact and fan radiators, often without having to adjust the size of the radiator or change the piping system. There are six possible connection options. The standard bottom right connection can easily be converted to a bottom left connection by rotating the radiator 180 degrees. In addition, there are four options for installing the radiator from the side on existing pipes, including a lateral and diagonal connection.
In addition, the Ulow-E is operated exclusively using a thermostat head, just like a standard radiator. This means that when old radiators are replaced with the Ulow-E fan radiator, there is no difference in operation for the customer compared to their previous radiators.
All-round heating solution
The Ulow-E fan radiator has a classic panel design, making it easy to integrate into any room. It operates with a supply temperature between 35 and 60 °C. Its compact dimensions (3 installation heights and 9 installation lengths) ensure a space-saving installation with high heat output. In fan mode, the Ulow-E achieves a heating output of 284 to 1846 watts at a design temperature of 45/35/20 °C, depending on size.
The fans, which are integrated into the center of the radiator, are whisper quiet at only 25 dB, so there are no disturbing noises when the radiator is on. Finally, the Ulow-E has an easily accessible cable switch so that the power can be turned off effortlessly, for example at night in the bedroom and in summer.
Easy to set up
Installing the Ulow-E fan radiator is very easy because it is ready to plug in. Ulow-E is mounted on the wall, like a traditional Compact radiator, and connected to the central heating network. Then all you have to do is plug it in. The mounting is included in the package. The pre-adjustable valve insert has a thread size of M30x1.5, making it suitable for any standard thermostat head.
