Remeha is providing 100 Elga Ace hybrid heat pumps free of charge to households that cannot afford the investment for sustainability. So writes the manufacturer of sustainable climate solutions in a performance guarantee, which was recently signed during the opening of the company's new heat pump factory.

This is a pilot that ties in with the "Energy Transition Program 2023-2030" in which the municipality of Apeldoorn wants to have 10,000 hybrid heat pumps installed by the year 2030. In this pilot, Remeha is offering a free Elga Ace hybrid heat pump, for every 100 heat pumps sold in the municipality, to households living below the poverty line. With this donation, these households can immediately save up to 70 percent on their gas consumption and thus save substantially on their energy bills. With this offer of 100 free hybrid heat pumps in this pilot, Remeha is helping the municipality of Apeldoorn become more sustainable. 'We take care of the investment and the user benefits from a saving on energy costs. We like to make a social contribution in the fight against energy poverty in the municipality where we are rooted which also leads to lower CO2 emissions. It fits well with our mission to accelerate the energy transition because a better outside begins inside," argues Remeha General Director Arthur van Schayk.

Skewed

The Apeldoorn-based installation company T&P Technology takes care of the installation and adjustment of the heat pumps on offer, as well as the associated costs. Leroy Teuwsen of T&P Technology explains this choice: "Our customers have the financial means to make investments so that they can heat their homes sustainably and thus save on energy bills. But the people who can best use such savings don't have those resources. That feels skewed, which is why we are happy to cooperate with this local initiative.'

The pilot is being deliberately highlighted on Sustainable Tuesday, a day when sustainable initiatives in the community are given a stage.

Municipality of Apeldoorn is currently developing a plan for making the city more sustainable. This fall, this plan will be made concrete. The allocation of a free Elga Ace will be done in consultation with the appropriate authorities in Apeldoorn. For a household to qualify for a free heat pump, certain conditions must be met. For example, installation of the Elga Ace must be practically feasible in the home and the home must be located in the municipality of Apeldoorn.
