Now that the hybrid heat pump is no longer going to be mandatory, price has become more important. After all, the device has to pay for itself. Fortunately, there are cheaper models to convince customers. After all, there is still a lot to be saved on energy costs, and at the moment you can also grab a nice subsidy. We look at five hybrid heat pumps for "little."
The ATAG Energion M Hybrid Light
is a monoblock heat pump that is easy to connect to an existing heating system. The device cleverly works in conjunction with any boiler, which, according to the manufacturer, delivers substantial savings at sub-zero temperatures because it keeps running down to minus 20°C even in heat pump mode. Even at such low temperatures, the 4kW heat pump still delivers its full output (A-10/W35), without the boiler having to step in. The special feature is that the heat pump also works in combined mode and not, as usual, only in heat pump or heating mode. Including subsidies and installation costs, this heat pump costs € 3750.
The fact that the ATAG Energion M Hybrid Light always continues to work in parallel with the boiler is thanks to its intelligent control box. Because it is so compact - at 66 kilograms it is among the lightest appliances available - it is convenient in homes with limited space. In addition to its compact size, the various connection options offer optimal flexibility in placing the device. It can further be combined with any boiler and any central heating engineer may install the heat pump because no F-gases certification is required. The heat pump works with the refrigerant R32.
Remeha Elga Ace
The Elga Ace is a hybrid heat pump with energy label A++ that can work with virtually any boiler of any brand and can handle both radiators and underfloor heating. The 4 kW version costs about € 3900, including installation costs and after accounting for ISDE subsidy. There is also a 6 kW version available for €4450. This price can of course still vary depending on things like living situation, level of subsidy and not to forget the actual installation costs.
Remeha has a so-called GasLos Guarantee. If a district goes off gas compulsorily within ten years, your customer can trade in this hybrid heat pump again and a discount is given up to a maximum of €2000 on an all-electric heat pump. The sound pressure of the Elga Ace 4kW is 35 dB at 3 meters distance.
Intergas Xtend
In the split-unit version, the Xtend costs about € 3499 after deduction of subsidy and including installation. There is also an Xtend Monoblock of another 5 kW. Both have energy label A++ and, thanks to the OpenTherm connection, work well with most current central heating boilers. An external open manifold is supplied as standard. Incidentally, the manufacturer itself indicates that combining with an Intergas boiler is most optimal.
Again, the Xtend can be used in combination with both radiators and underfloor heating, making it suitable for many existing homes, without the need for an immediate major renovation. R32 is used as the refrigerant. A sound pressure level below 40 dB is achievable at distances from three meters from the outdoor unit.
Quatt Hybrid Solo
This is a hybrid heat pump that, thanks to its modular design, can be converted to all-electric at a later date. The Hybrid Solo costs € 2999, including installation and after deduction of ISDE subsidy. Besides the Hybrid Solo of 6 kW, there is also the Hybrid Duo of 12 kW, which means that two outdoor units are placed. Without that immediately the price is doubled and currently is €3499 after deduction of subsidy.
If you choose Quatt, you can also opt for the optional Quatt Chill with an introductory price of €1099, which should become available in spring 2025. A Quatt Chill connects via a so-called QuickConnector to the radiator of a specific room, allowing you to cool (or heat) it. According to Quatt, this Chill is as effective as an air conditioner, but without the need for additional ductwork or outdoor units. Heat is dissipated through the existing heating system and the Quatt Hybrid.
DeWarmte Pump AO
Pump AO is an 8 kW hybrid monoblock with energy label A+++, making customers eligible for the highest subsidy. Placement of this monoblock can be on a flat roof, somewhere in the garden, or on (or in front of) the facade. The refrigerant used is R32 and this achieves a water temperature of sixty degrees. The Pump AO produces 45 dB of sound pressure and in silent mode this sound is halved (corresponding to 42 dB). The purchase price is € 3400,- and that includes installation and after deduction of subsidy (appliance price without deduction € 6325,-). This heat pump can always be converted to all-electric later. To have a cooling function, an upgrade is required (€ 750,-).
Weheat Flint P40
The Flint P40 is a brand new 6 kW outdoor monoblock that can only be used hybrid. Thus, the unit cannot be converted to all-electric at a later date. The refrigerant used is propane (R290). With this, it manages to achieve a water temperature as high as seventy degrees, making this heat pump perfectly suitable for homes with older delivery systems as well. The sound pressure level is 37 dB and, in addition to heating, cooling is also possible. Thanks to the A+++ energy label, your customer will be eligible for the highest subsidy, bringing the purchase price to just € 674 (unit price without deduction is € 3449). That does not include installation costs, which is a handy thing to mention when talking to customers.
