Nefit Bosch's new heat pump, the Compress 5800i AWR, is the first heat pump designed for use on a pitched roof. It is a completely integrated roof solution developed specifically for the Dutch market.d. Nice touch: it's maintenance-free, so the installer doesn't have to go up on the roof.
With systems installed on the roof, maintenance is a major concern. Because maintenance requires the installer to go up on the roof, and you'd rather not. The design of the Compress 5800i AWR was developed specifically for sloping roofs, with the aim of a completely maintenance-free outdoor unit. Among other things, the use of the natural refrigerant propane (R290) combined with smart technology and a self-cleaning construction makes periodic maintenance of the outdoor unit unnecessary. If desired, the installer can monitor and manage the system remotely thanks to the standard integrated Wi-Fi module in combination with Bosch HomeCom Pro.
Installer doesn't have to go on the roof
However, should a fault occur that cannot be solved remotely, the design of the rooftop heat pump provides that any repairs can be made quickly; all components are easily accessible. Installers can call on Nefit Bosch's Full Service Support for service work. With a network of certified partner companies, this provides nationwide coverage for service work at height. Outdoor unit installation can also be outsourced. Nefit Bosch has partnered with construction company Van Wijnen for this purpose. So the installer does not have to go up on the roof himself and can focus entirely on the installation inside.
From the Netherlands and Europe
By far the majority of the Compress 5800i AWR 's components come from Europe. 'A conscious choice,' says Pim Likkel, product manager at Nefit Bosch. 'By choosing partners in the Netherlands and Europe, we are less sensitive to disruptions in the supply of parts.' Dutch parts make up a quarter of the value. Another half comes from other countries within Europe. For example, the refrigerant circuit is produced at Bosch's heat pump plant in Sweden. Assembly takes place at Nefit Bosch's production facility in Deventer. After the finished product rolls off the line, it is tuned and tested here before it is transported to the construction site.
Low Total Cost of Ownership
The Compress 5800i AWR is a solution that the manufacturer says is ideally suited for (renovation) projects of housing corporations and others. A precondition in the development was the lowest possible Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Those low costs are mainly in the minimal maintenance costs and an efficient service concept. Although the initial investment for the Compress 5800i AWR rooftop heat pump is higher than for 'normal' monoblock heat pumps, it falls within the price range of existing solutions in which regular outdoor units are placed on pitched roofs.
