With a monoblock heat pump, almost all the components are in one unit and it is usually placed somewhere outside. This makes this air-to-water heat pump, especially compared to a split unit, fairly easy to install and commission. Quite a few monoblocks exist; we'll take a look at six of them.
ATAG Energion M
The Energion M comes in 12 variants of hybrid heat pumps, with outputs from 3.5 to 15 kW. These are especially suitable for existing buildings. In addition, the Energion M comes in 20 variants of all-electric heat pumps, whether or not combined with an integrated hot water cylinder. with The Energion M is pre-filled with R32 refrigerant, which means, among other things, that the installer does not need certification for F-gases to install this heat pump. Which does not apply to the split variant. The heat pump operates at outdoor temperatures between -20 and +35 degrees Celsius
Three chassis sizes are available, from small through medium to large. The variants with the largest chassis, with an output of 12 and 12 kW, have two fans placed one above the other. According to the Consumers' Association, the Energion M has the smallest indoor unit of all. It combines with any central heating boiler.

Itho Daalderop Amber
The Amber from Itho Daalderop uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-290 and is available in capacities of 6.5 kW, 9.5 kW and 12 kW. This monoblock can be used hybrid, where the heat pump works seamlessly with all brands of central heating boilers, but can also be used all electric.
Itho Daalderop has put a lot of thought into the design of the Amber to make the monoblock fit in with homes as well as possible. Something I'm sure consumers can appreciate, after all, a monoblock or outdoor unit is quite eye-catching.
As much as possible, the Amber runs at low speed to reduce noise levels. Through optional floor supports, noise can be reduced even further. In the all-electric variant, various storage vessels (type I-WPV 3G) for tap water are possible, both standing, lying, and hanging.

Remeha Mercuria Ace
A compact monoblock available from 4 kW to 16 kW and using R-32 as a refrigerant. This hybrid or all-electric monoblock is available in single-phase or three-phase versions, making it widely applicable in both new construction and renovation projects.
It's helpful for installers to know that this heat pump has the Ace platform (eSmart Inside operating system), which you connect to wirelessly via Bluetooth from the Smart Start app on your smartphone.
With it, you quickly and flawlessly go through all the necessary steps to commission the Remeha Ace Mercuria heat pump. Everything is automatically recorded in a report for later reference. Also convenient is that you can save configurations to reuse in new installations.

LG Therma V R290 Monobloc
Unlike the Therma V Monobloc, the new Therma V R290 Monobloc, as its name implies, no longer uses R32 but R290. This new heat pump is available with an output of 12 to 16 kW (single phase) or 9 to 16 kW (three phases) and can be combined with a third-party water tank. In addition, a combination package including a 200-liter tank is under development and should be available later this year.
The maximum water temperature is 75 degrees Celsius, allowing existing radiators to be used, and the heat pump works down to ambient temperatures as low as -28 degrees Celsius thanks to R1 compressor technology. Of interest to consumers is that they can operate the system anytime and anywhere using the LG ThinQ app on a smartphone. Local operation via a controller is still possible, of course.
Vaillant aroTHERM plus
Vaillant's aroTHERM plus is available with an output of 3 to 12 kW. This heat pump uses refrigerant R290 and is excellent for use in existing homes or new construction.
In the hybrid version, where the aroTHERM plus works together with an existing or new high-efficiency boiler, the intelligent temperature control selects the most efficient and energy-efficient heat source at any time. An all-electric solution is possible by expanding the system with the compact Vaillant uniTOWER plus with the size of a refrigerator (190 liters, enough for a family of four).
The maximum supply temperature is 75 degrees Celsius. At an outside temperature of -10, a continuous temperature of 65 degrees Celsius is still possible. However, a maximum of 65 degrees is recommended for optimal heat output and efficiency.

Nefit Bosch Compress 2000 AWF
In addition to existing and new homes, the Compress 2000 AWF from Nefit Bosch is also suitable for small apartment buildings and in utilities. The heat pump has a capacity between 4 and 16 kW (1 phase), or between 12 and 30 kW (3 phases). The monoblock is pre-filled with refrigerant R-32, and this heat pump operates at outdoor temperatures between -25 and +43 degrees.
Three chassis sizes are available, from small through medium to large, with a total of as many as 11 different power ratings. The variants with the largest chassis have two fans placed one above the other. By placing units in cascade, the power can reach 180 kW.
The hybrid variant can work with almost any central heating boiler and, thanks to a separately available electric element, it is easy to switch to all electric. In terms of storage tank, there is a wide range of DHW cylinders from Nefit Bosch to choose from.
