If you have solar panels, it becomes important to use your solar energy yourself as much as possible. As it is known now,in the future the balancing rule will expire and a feed-in penalty is increasingly being charged. One solution is a hot water tank. The Xtore from Intergas can always be found somewhere.
The Xtore is an addition to Intergas' Xtend hybrid systems. It has been tested in combination with the Xtend and an Intergas boiler connected Opentherm. On/off control to the boiler is not possible, as is the combination with other brands.
Gasless hot tap water
The Xtore uses excess heat from the heat pump. Especially in summer, you can use the excess power to heat your tap water. The hybrid heat pump is then often not used for heating the central heating for six months, even though there is enough power from the solar panels. During this period, the heat pump is used to make hot water.
The heated water contained in the Xtore is offered to the boiler as preheated water. If the water is not hot enough, the boiler heats the last bit. The boiler only needs to heat the tap water minimally, or not at all, so the user can shower and wash the dishes, almost without using gas. If more is tapped than the Xtore can handle, the boiler takes over the entire demand. Thus, the resident is assured of hot tap water as it has always been.
Flexible installation
What's handy about the Xtore is that you have great flexibility in installation. It can hang horizontally or vertically on the wall, upside down if necessary. But it can also be installed standing or lying on the floor. Furthermore, you can choose between a 40- or 80-liter Xtore, so with less space or a small household, the unit can also be accommodated. Should the need arise, it can even be put in series to create a larger amount of hot tap water.
