The VSK award in the Healthy & Comfort category went to Orcon, with their new compact balanced ventilation unit, the HRC OptiAir. The jury emphasized healthy air and gave extra points for Dutch manufacture.
'Heat pumps and air conditioning are always well thought of, but ventilation is sometimes forgotten,' says Johan Verwoert of Groupe Atlantic Nederland, of which Orcon is part. 'That is unjustified because it is very important for a healthy indoor climate.'
Compact and flexible
But in many apartments and renovation projects, there is very limited space for balanced ventilation, he says. 'This installation is nice and flexible and compact. It can be on the ceiling, on the floor, on the wall, horizontally or vertically, whatever you want. At the same time, it's full of sensors.'
Homes that are currently not ventilated or have only basic ventilation can also make the step to demand-controlled ventilation with heat exchanger with the OptiAir. In any case, there will be no lack of space.
